“Safe Community Plus+” Reaches Out to Schools and Communities
Inter-departmental Counter Terrorism Unit (ICTU) has unveiled the “Safe Community Plus+” in its first collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG). The Commissioner SIU Chak-yee and the Executive Director of the HKFYG, Ms HSU Siu-man officiated at the opening ceremony held at Hong Kong Baptist University Affiliated School Wong Kam Fai Secondary and Primary School in Sha Tin in the afternoon on October 29 to mark the start of this campaign. The “Safe Community Plus+” will visit different schools and community spots in the coming four months.
“Safe Community Plus+” features a variety of mini games, including AI Chatbot, which simulates dialogue to teach participants how to apply “Spot and Report” when facing suspicious situation. Additionally, a display screen is attached at the exterior of truck for showing public education videos such as “Run, Hide, Report” and “Spot and Report”. About 50 teachers and students attended the opening ceremony on the day to try out the wide array of activities on the “Safe Community Plus+”.
ICTU will continue to actively engage with different sectors in the community and reach out to members of the public through different channels and campaigns, with a view to raising their security awareness.
