Radicalized individuals are mostly \u201cinspired\u201d by extremist propaganda accessible online with their extremist belief being reinforced by the receipt of massive and intensive extremist content. They believe that it is legitimate to sacrifice anything in order to pursue their agenda. They agree it is justified to use any means, including terrorist attacks, to achieve their goals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Radicalized individuals may display the following behavioral traits:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Flooded with grievance and hatred<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 become radical due to the influence of extremist belief, dissatisfy with the surrounding society, constantly blame on inequality and injustice for personal failure, identify specific targets to express grievances.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hostility against out-groups<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 engage in fierce conflict due to unwillingness to accept opposing views, perceive people holding different stances as enemies, gradually marginalize and isolate from normal society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Develop sense of mission<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 create a strong sense of mission owning to obsession with extremist ideologies, believe it is a duty to pursue his\/her ideologies by means of extreme violence.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advocate extreme violence<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 legitimize or even glorify extreme violent acts, incite like-minded individuals to achieve common goals by violent means.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If members of the public come across any person (e.g. family, friends, colleagues or classmates) displaying signs of radicalization or even showing an intent to plot attacks, they should report to ICTU via its\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/ct-awareness\/report\/\">online reporting<\/a>\u00a0system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please be aware that ICTU\u2019s reporting system is for suspected terrorism-related information of a non-urgent nature.
